Today the New Glarus Brewing Company announced the release of the latest beer in their Thumbprint series, Weizen Doppelbock.

New Glarus Brewing Company’s Weizen Doppelbock is a colossal dark wheat behemoth clocking in at 18.5 °P. This beer is brewed in the Bavarian style of old, with 60% malted wheat, utilizing a double decoction, and is 100% naturally carbonated in the bottle. Brewmaster Dan Carey utilized a very special yeast and a traditional open fermentation to create notes of gingerbread, cinnamon, and a clove snap to balance a bouquet of fruity, banana notes. Dan hand selected a blend of German, American, and Canadian barley to create a subtle canvass on which to showcase this truly unique creation. Weizen Doppelbock is an eccentric indulgence available only in Wisconsin.

Weizen Doppelbock shipped to wholesalers the week of November 7th and should be showing up in stores and on tap lines in Wisconsin the week of November 14th. To find the closest location currently stocking Weizen Doppelbock please use the Beer Finder on the New Glarus Brewing website at https://newglarusbrewing.com/pages/beerfinder.

The New Glarus Brewing Company Thumbprint series of beers are intended to be brewed one time as an expression of Brewmaster Dan Carey’s love for the artistry and craft of beer making. These beers are made in smaller batches with the beer enthusiast in mind.
