Corona funds nature-inspired missions to reconnect people with the outdoors

LONDON, May 25, 2022 Today, Corona, a global brand of AB InBev, celebrates the second season of its award-winning original content series, Free Range Humans: Nature Is Calling, now streaming on the YouTube channel from Corona.

Over the past 200 years, the global urban population has grown from 2% to 50%* (Population Reference Bureau, 2004). The most striking examples of this transition to urbanization are the megacities that are home to more than 10 million city dwellers who spend more than 90% of their lives indoors, resulting in a deep disconnection with nature. The pandemic has further exacerbated this problem.

“People are very eager to reconnect with nature, but we are limited by our daily routines and our city life,” said Felipe Ambra, global vice president of Corona. “Free Range Humans is a joyous celebration of people reconnecting with nature. To bring this to life, we'll be creating time-limited oases for city dwellers to experience how even a few minutes with nature can positively impact their physical and mental well-being. »

In 2019, Corona Studios, a dynamic global content company that operates and markets Corona exclusively outside the United States, launched Free Range Humans. Like the Corona brand, the series embraces nature and the beach, and Season 1 has garnered over 100 million views worldwide.

The second season spotlights six new episodes featuring people around the world who have broken free from everyday limitations to connect with nature and dedicated their lives to causes close to their hearts.

“The first season was based on the idea that people spend 90% of their lives indoors.** But only some of us follow the impulse to quit our desk jobs, seek meaning in life. 'outside,' said Nick Sonderup, of Corona's creative partner Pereira O'Dell. “Season 2 follows the journey of six people who have decided to venture outside and seek out more meaningful pursuits. »
