From Big Lake Brewing:
Big Lake Brewing, one of the fastest growing breweries in the state of Michigan, is set to release the second beer in its Exploratory Series on February 23rd. Cans of Volume #1 were released statewide in January, and sold out in only one day.
Volume #2 has a base of super cool (wait for it…) Cryo Pop hops from Yakima Chief Hops. The hops are specially engineered and cryogenically frozen to produce a big, juicy ‘pop’ of peach, pineapple and grapefruit flavor and aroma, while cutting down on any vegetal off-flavors. Idaho 7 and Pacific Gem hops were also used to bring in some citrus and berry flavors, while Vienna Malt was used to give the beer complexity and depth.
Big Lake’s Exploratory Series blurs the lines between art and science by experimenting with aspects of brewing including alcohol level, mouthfeel, and carbonation, and using unique flavors and ingredients including cryogenically frozen hops, rare grains, and hard-to-find yeasts. The distinctive ingredients and processes used means these will only ever be small-batch, limited-edition brews.
