The Future Is…
One Damn Tasty IPA
We looked into the crystal ball with our friends from Future Primitive and took a glimpse into the flavor of IPAs to come. We saw clearly that Lemon Drop, Mosaic, Cashmere and Amarillo portend a future that's bright, colorful, and intensely flavorful.
We have been friends with Kevin, Ian and the crew at Future Primitive from Seattle, WA for more years than we can count. Future Primitive is a fairly new brewery, coming up on 3 years, but Kevin and Ian have been a part of the beer scene for a long time. Coming together to create our first ever collaboration was a joy. We both had limited experience with Lemon Drop hops, so there was step one. Next we layered in a complementary cast of hops including Cashmere, Mosaic and Amarillo. We think the final beer is pretty damn delicious.
Label art was created by award winning Portland artist Mandy Grotie. She likes when art catches her eye for its funky form and bright colors. It gives her a sense of relief from everyday life, almost pausing her in the present. She digs working with bright colors to embed positivity into her art. She believes that this can have an effect through an awakening of the visual senses. Her work is funky, weird, and full of love. Mandy aspires to keep creating and bringing brightness to the world. Join us for First Taste Tuesday featuring The Future Is IPA on September 7th at both The Brewery and Champagne Lounge (5224 SE 26th Ave) and Robot Room at the Rocket Empire Machine (6935 NE Glisan).
