Today I have a returning wild ale coming from Firestone Walker Brewing Barrelworks in Buellton, CA. This is Nec Bones and it will be an American wild ale fermented with 3,000-pounds of Honey Fire Nectarines grown in Paso Robles by the Rydell Family of Fair Hill Farms. The fruit was added to a French oak foeder with a blend of 18-24 month old oak-fermented base beer. After aging for 1-year, another 2,000-pounds of fresh nectarine puree from Wawona Farms was added and the resulting blend was aged for 6-months. This 2nd version of Nec Bones will be one of the most heavily fruited Barrelworks beers to date and it will hit 6.5%-AbV. The beer will be packaged in a limited run of 1,000 cases of 375ml bottles on 7 June 2021 and stay tuned for release details.
