This beer began its journey as an imperial stout, that was then transferred to XO Cognac, Ruby Port, and Petit Syrah first fill casks, along with wine lees and juice. Then we formulated a sweet imperial stout with loads of malt that pushed sweet, sticky dried fruits like dates, figs, raisins, and currant. We developed a blend of the barrel-aged stout and the fresh sweet stout, that was chilled in steel vessels and slowly cold-aged for 18 months. Released today in celebration of #InternationalStoutDay at our Colorado and North Carolina taprooms!
Kicking off stout season this Saturday with Double Sweater & Silk Pajamas (10.7% ABV). This aged imperial stout has gone for quite the ride over the past 3 years, to deliver a dark, decadent barrel-aged project brewed and blended with our good friends at @highalpinebrew in Gunnison, Colorado. Available on draft and to-go at Colorado and North Carolina Oskar Blues taproom locations, this Saturday!
