I brought you a peek, and now this from Boulevard:
The world of beer has shifted in the last decade and brewers all over the world have realized there are unlimited possibilities when they experiment and explore. Our brewers had this epiphany many years ago and the proof exists at the Small Bar in our Beer Hall at the Tours & Rec Center. One visit and you will see an abundance of creativity and experimentation on display. As we play around with different techniques and flavor combinations we discover some that are so delicious they must be shared.
Crust Fall is an Imperial Berliner-Style Weisse Ale with additions of peach, blackberry, blueberry, and vanilla. To craft this recipe we invited our good friends from Rhinegeist Brewery in Cincinnati, OH to collaborate with us. Their love of both high-quality beer and pie made them the ideal partners for a venture such as this one.
This Peach Berry Pie Sour tastes and smells like…wait for it…a fresh-baked pie with a filling of peaches and tart berries. Crisp and slightly tart, the beer pours garnet red with a white frothy head. The beer opens with aromas of freshly sliced peaches followed by waves of juicy berry aroma and flavor. On the back end of each sip there is a lingering presence of toasted pie crust, a flavor we create using both honey malt and biscuit malt.
Apologies to your grandma, but this is about to be your favorite pie.
ABV: 7.5%
IBU: 12
Malts: Pale malt, wheat malt, honey malt, Dingeman’s Biscuit Malt
Hops: Columbus
Additionally: Peaches, blackberries, blueberries and vanilla
This beer is dessert in a glass, but if you are looking to pair it with other foods we recommend: granola parfait (breakfast beer!), mascarpone cheese appetizers, vanilla bean ice cream, peanut butter cups
Crust Fall will be available in 4-pack 16oz cans and on draft and will debut starting in the Greater Kansas City Area on Monday, October 5th with other regions to follow in the coming weeks. Expect to find Crust Fall in locations that typically see Boulevard Brewing Co. Limited Releases.
