From Seedstock:
Denver-based Seedstock Brewery is once again releasing a beer that is near impossible to find in U.S.: the horner beer. The horner beer joins the broyhan, polotmavy, gruit, gratzer, dusseldorf alt, fredersdorfer and other old-world beers that Seedstock has released and can be extremely difficult to find stateside.
The horner beer is brewed exclusively from oat malt and is a hazy pale yellow-green color as a result. Cream of tartar is added to the wort to get a slightly sour and refreshing flavor. The horner beer, invented in Vienna in 1750, was called out in Mozart's "Bei der Hitz im Sommer ess ich" canon, naming the horner as the drink of summer.
The Denver-based brewery will be releasing the horner next Friday, Aug. 28 at 3 p.m. in a limited number of 22-oz bombers. The $22 bottle can be ordered for presale for pickup (3610 W Colfax Ave, Denver, CO 80204) in their online store.
