Greetings from Almanac HQ in Alameda! We hope this email finds you well. We wanted to reach out with a brief update on our taproom reopening status. At this time, we do not have an expected reopening date. Although outdoor dining is allowed in Alameda County, we have made the decision to wait until we feel the status of the pandemic has stabilized and improved on a local and regional level. Currently, the data is showing that virus transmission in Alameda County is still on the rise, and the county is on the governor's watchlist as the result of failing to meet state benchmarks for getting the virus under control.
This is a difficult decision for us in that we deeply miss our community, and want nothing more than to see our friends and patrons in person, over a meal and a pint. However, we believe that our highest priority is for the safety and wellbeing of our staff, and for our customers as well. Minimizing the risk of exposure for both staff and patrons is our guiding principle. We will continue to review the status of the virus on a local and regional basis every week and will be sure to update you when we decide we can resume outdoor service in a safe and responsible manner. This could be a matter of weeks if the data turns around, or it could be longer.
Like all small businesses, Almanac has been deeply impacted by the pandemic. Having to close our taproom for the last 4 months has been difficult and we deeply appreciate the support we've received for our to-go sales and our online store. To that end, your continued support is greatly appreciated and we encourage you to please stop by the taproom and pick up beer to go, or order beer from our online store from the comfort of your home and have it shipped straight to your door, with free shipping of course.
As always, thank you. Almanac is nothing without our amazing community and we are grateful for your love and support. We will get through this together, and we can't wait to have you back to raise a socially distant toast before too long.
Sincerely,
Damian Fagan
