Modern Times Announces New Releases

NEW SPECIAL RELEASES DROP THIS SATURDAY

As 2020 progresses from a roaring dumpster fire to a supervolcanic landfill detonation, we cannot help but be intensely aware of the comfort that a beer-filled refrigerator can offer. If you're fortunate enough to still be in a financial position to avail yourself of delicious liquid luxury items, we would highly recommend that you do so.
Despite the swirling vortex of chaos in the world at large, our beer-conjurers have yet again outdone themselves with some truly delightful special release offerings for part one of June's special release drop, summoning forth spectacles of crispy, hoppy, funky, & fruit-laden radness with which to fill your glasses and faces. Scroll on down for the full lineup.
*Although some tasting rooms are beginning to reopen, pickup reservations for special release beers are still MANDATORY at all locations.
**Please be sure to read all of the important notes at the end of this email if you plan on purchasing. Seriously, it'll make your life way easier.

ALL TOGETHER DIPA (COLLAB W/ OTHER HALF)
We circled up with the homies at Other Half to brew this hazy juice-fest. Not only is it absurdly tasty and stuffed with ridiculous amounts of Citra, Mosaic, and Simcoe hops, but a portion of the proceeds will go to the US Bartenders’ Guild National Charity Foundation*, to aid our friends who are currently waiting to get back behind our favorite bars. Really good beer, really good cause—sounds like a win/win, friends.
ABV: 8%
Format: 4-Pack of 16oz Cans
Price: $21.50
Total Quantity: 4,000
4-Pack Limit: 3
*If you feel like throwing a little more support their way, that'd be pretty sweet. You can do so via the
USBG Foundation website.

STARBELT
This liquid marvel was brewed with a malt base of Best Heidelberg Pilsner along with some oat & chit malt before a liberal hopping with Citra Cryo & Motueka, yielding a majestically refreshing, sparkly beverage with notes of lime zest, lemon peel, and orange and a delightfully dry finish.
ABV: 5.2%
Format: 4-Pack of 16oz Cans
Price: $15
Total Quantity: 1,750
4-Pack Limit: 6

FOEDER ICE W/ STRATA & HALLERTAU BLANC
Our year-round pilsner spent two and a half glorious months in our heavy-toast American oak foeders before a generous dry-hopping with a 50/50 split of Strata & Hallertauer Blanc. The resulting beverage is a deliciously complex, 4.8% bundle of citrusy joy with delicate notes of lemon grass, white grape, and citrus.
ABV: 4.8%
Format: 4-Pack of 16oz Cans
Price: $15
Total Quantity: 1,575
4-Pack Limit: 6

RAMPART JUNCTION (EDITION 5)
For the newest iteration of Rampart Junction, we added a hefty helping of fresh Snow Giant & Yellow peaches to a blend of our red wine barrel-aged dark sour beers. Fermentation began with our house Lomaland yeast culture, but the robust sourness and heavy funk is the result of a secondary mixed fermentation featuring a plethora of Saccharomyces, Brettanomyces, and Lactobacillus strains. The resulting beer is powerfully fruity, incredibly complex, and bursting with peach flavor and aroma.
ABV: 7.2%
Format: 375ml Bottle
Price: $16.25
Total Quantity: 1,992
Bottle Limit: 1

Important notes regarding this month's sale:

  • Although some tasting rooms are beginning to reopen, you still MUST make reservations for your special release beer pick-ups.
  • For the safety of all involved, you must wear a mask during pick-up. This is mandatory.
  • These items have a 30-day pickup window across the board ending on 7/12/20. Yep, everything. 30 days only.
  • The first day to pick-up will be 6/10 in San Diego / Los Angeles / Encinitas / Oakland / Anaheim and 6/12 in Portland / Santa Barbara.
  • Reservations for the first two weeks of pick-up times will be available on the sale page. Again, be sure to check out separately with your reservation time, and do not add it to the cart with your beer. Thanks!
**SUPER-IMPORTANT NEW PICKUP RESERVATION INFO:
  • If you try to put your reservation time in the same cart with your special release beer, the site won't let you check out. You must check out separately with your reservation time. Just make sure to use the same email for both checkouts so we can look up your order and have your beer ready for you.
  • We've expanded our hours and added WAY more reservation times for this sale, so securing a time to pick up your beers should be far easier this time around.
***SUPER-IMPORTANT INFO ON WEB-STORE ERROR MESSAGES:
During high traffic times, the website will sometimes display the following message when you're trying to purchase a beer: “Sorry, this product’s stock has all been reserved. Please try again later.” This does not mean that the beer is sold out. It's a site error that results from high traffic and lots of requests for a particular beer occurring simultaneously. If you wait a while and keep trying, that beer may become available again. A beer is not actually sold out until there is a "sold out" banner displayed over its image in the store. It's annoying, and we're working with our web-store developers to get it fixed, but realistically we're pretty sure it's still going to be an issue on Saturday, and we wanted you to know that going in. Again, our apologies.

The SALE will go live at 10AM on Saturday 6/6.

We thank you again—and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future—for your patience, support, and feedback during these immensely challenging months. We cannot possibly overstate how grateful we are to be surrounded by such a truly excellent community. Hang in there, friends.
