This morning we get our very first look at two new Saison bottles coming from Russian River Brewing in Santa Rosa and Windsor, CA. Robert Saison will be a traditional farmhouse ale and it will be the first of two beers that pay “homage to their friend Floris’s parents who have hosted them in Antwerp Belgium.” Robert uses American and European malt and hops with a “distinctive strain” of farmhouse yeast. Primary fermentation occurs in an open-top fermenter and the beer hits 5.9%-AbV. Jannemie Saison is brewed with American and European malts and hops and it is fermented like Robert, however Jannemie will be bottle-conditioned with Brettanomyces (6.2%-AbV). These are both 12.68oz bottles and stay tuned for release details.
