Mybeerbuzz .com Highlights Karbach Daymaker Brut Rosé IPA (Review)

Mybeerbuzz .com Highlights Karbach Daymaker Brut Rosé IPAI’ve really been enjoying some of the latest new IPA style-categories, and of course you can’t put the words “new, style and IPA” in the same sentence without talking about the Brut IPA category.  This new dryer-style of IPA seems to be the current craze, and while I’ve only tried a few, I have liked the few I’ve tried.
With that said, I jumped at the opportunity to try a new brut IPA coming from Karbach Brewing in Houston, TX.  The beer is called Daymaker Brut Rosé IPA and it is being released just in time for the 2018 holidays…so off we go.Mybeerbuzz .com Highlights Karbach Daymaker Brut Rosé IPA
Daymaker pours a delicate pink-tinted golden color with a bright and bubbly mouthfeel.  The beer is brewed with cranberry and hibiscus, and while both contribute to the color, the cranberry really sneaks into the aromas.  There are hops in the nose but I found a distinct hint of tart cranberry as well.  The flavors slip in like a traditional IPA with some citrus and passion fruit on your tongue followed by a refreshing and dry finish.  You can definitely pick up the tart cranberries and floral flavors from the hibiscus, but the clean, dry and crisp finish balances it all out very nicely.  The beer is brewed with Saphir, Lemon Drop, Hallertau Blanc and Melon hops and I found a nice lemony hop balance with the depth of hop flavors in Daymaker.  All-in-all this is a really refreshing, drinkable and yes “dry” IPA with a lot to offer.
Daymaker had a lower 15 IBU than I was expecting given the hop presence, and at 6%-AbV you’ll find this to be a well balanced and drinkable IPA.  The pink, white and bronze colors on the 12oz can will make it stand out in your holiday cooler and I suspect this will become a popular beer at any party.
Daymaker Brut Rosé IPA is available now in 12oz cans so be sure to track it down and try it for yourself.  And when you DO serve it at your holiday party, be sure to let us know what YOU (and your friends) think.
