I’ve always wondered what customers actually like to see in their Inbox, and while I know I can certainly speak for what I like, I’m not always sure my readers agree. If you’re using e-Mail as a tool to reach your customers, you definitely want to create e-Mail your customers WANT to receive. I was checking into some of the great guides on Emma.com and I found a really helpful download called 12 Of The Smartest e-Mails to hit our Inbox.
Some of my take-aways from the article are that less is more: don’t overload your e-mail with paragraph after paragraph. Get to the point and catch your reader’s attention right away. Encourage more interaction and make your social media buttons prominent. Make it worth their while to interact with you by providing coupons or special offers. Show-off what you do best with an eye-catching photograph.
I won't give up all of the great ideas in this article, so be sure to check it out for yourself. And while you’re on emma.com, check out their other great free e-Mail marketing guides.
And while we’re at it, here’s a really useful Infographic from Campaign Monitor:
