Jester King Releasing 2018 Das Überkind Vieille Saison 9/7

Jester King Releasing 2018 Das Überkind Vieille Saison 9/7From Jester King:

We're pleased to introduce 2018 Das Überkind Vieille Saison. Das Überkind is our vieille or "old" saison aged for about a year in oak barrels.

This is only our fifth-ever release of Das Überkind. Most of the Das Überkind we make ends up being refermented with fruit. But every year or two, we like to take some our favorite barrels and blend them without fruit. Our HEAD BREWER AVERIE SWANSON writes:

"We are excited to share another taste of our base barrel stock! Our house mixed culture of yeast and bacteria matures our beer very well with time in the barrel. The average 10-12 month aging period allows the beer to pick up vanilla oak character as it develops more acidity and lots of stonefruit and tropical fruit character. The resultant beer is tart and dry, but with a medium-full body that carries the bright fruit complexity."

Our 2018 blend is 5.6% alcohol by volume. It was bottled and kegged in June and 100% naturally conditioned through refermentation in the serving vessel.

Das Überkind will be released at 4PM ON FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 7TH at our tasting room. It will be available by the glass and in bottles to go (750ml/$18). We only have about 850 bottles with a bottle limit of 3 per customer per day. We do not anticipate that Das Überkind will be distributed outside of special events.
