From Sierra Nevada:
When you want to brew an authentic Oktoberfest, it’s best to bet on experience. When we took up the mission, we knew who to call: Weihenstephan, the oldest brewery in the world.
Founded in 1040, Weihenstephan (for pronunciation help, follow this link) pre-dates the Oktoberfest festival tradition by more than 800 years, and they’ve been at the forefront of beer development for nearly that long. Compared to these guys, we’re spring chickens. But when our powers combine—centuries of traditional Bavarian brewing experience with a pioneer of America’s craft brew revolution—you’ve got yourself one hell of an Oktoberfest.
Expect the beer to deliver a malt backbone balanced by subtle hop character in the Sierra Nevada tradition. It’s a crisp and clean drinkable crowd-pleaser. After all, nothing captures the spirit of celebration like a beer among friends, and we’re excited to count Weihenstephan among them.
