From BizJournals:
Deschutes Brewery said Wednesday afternoon that Karl Ockert, who helped make the state a pioneering powerhouse in the now-ubiquitous India Pale Ale market, is leaving the brewery at the end of March.
Ockert, who'd worked at Deschutes for three years, will return to his craft beer consulting work. Under his watch, Deschutes greatly expanded both its winter and year-round beer lines, primarily, in the latter category, focusing on a hop-fresh ale that's widely considered one of Oregon's best.
