Take Craft Back Falls Short of $213 Billion Goal

Take Craft Back Falls Short of $213 Billion GoalFrom the Brewers Association:

You may be shocked to learn that the Brewers Association’s Take Craft Back crowdfunding campaign didn’t quite reach its goal of $213 billion (jaw drop) – so the attempt to buy Anheuser-Busch InBev has proven to be a lofty undertaking.

However, in less than two months, the campaign raised an impressive $3,808,660 in pledges of support from 11,811 independent backers – demonstrating that people really do care about protecting independent beer.

And with that, Take Craft Back will live on forever – in the hearts and steins of independent beer lovers everywhere – and, of course, through the independent craft brewer seal, which serves as an easy way for beer lovers to distinguish independent beers from their Big Beer counterparts.

Before Andy runs off to his next covert op, we wanted to share the final Take Craft Back video, released today, summing up this incredible adventure.

Julia Herz, Craft Beer Program Director at the Brewers Association, is available to discuss the campaign and the reason why independence matters.

Cheers to independence!

We’re proud to have launched the largest crowdfunding campaign ever in the history of crowdfunding campaigns, to raise $213 to buy Anheuser-Busch InBev and Take Craft Back! And…it turns out $213 billion is really a very, very, very large sum of money. But while the crowdfund is coming to an end, our cause lives on! We’re taking pledges of support through December 15, 2017 – so if you haven’t gone to TakeCraftBack.com and made your pledge yet, now is the time to do so. Beyond December 15? Take Craft Back will live on in spirit when you keep supporting independent craft beer by drinking independent craft beer. Need help finding an independent craft brewery near you?
