Upland’s Sour Program Finishes Strong in 2017 in 4 New Markets

Upland’s Sour Program Finishes Strong in 2017 in 4 New MarketsFrom Upland Sour Ales:

BLOOMINGTON, IN —Upland  Brewing Co. wraps up up their 2017 whirlwind tour of sour ale launches across the country with the expansion of their wood-aged sours in Texas, South Carolina, Michigan, and Oklahoma, this November. The year began with launches along the east coast, shortly followed by expansion in the midwest and south, and can now be found on the west coast with the most recent welcome in California. More launches are planned for 2018, but fans in these areas can expect to get their hands on Upland’s unique and innovative sours just in time for the holidays.

“Our team worked extremely hard to get our beers into as many of the best beer markets as possible during the past year. We are excited to wrap up 2017 with this last bunch of fantastic beer destinations and look forward to revisiting everyone in 2018 with a number of new and exciting offerings,” said Dusty Howe, Upland's Director of National Sales.

Beginning the week of November 6, Upland will be in Texas, partnering with Flood Distribution, bringing their sours to the Houston, Austin, and Dallas markets. Sour enthusiasts will be able to enjoy a spectrum of Upland’s fruited and barrel-aged ales, including Hopsynth, Darken, Cherry, and Revive. Partnering with M4 C.I.C. Distributors, Upland expands their midwest markets into Michigan, with events focused on the Grand Rapids area.

Hopsynth is Upland’s only dry-hopped sour, using the freshest experimental hops available. Another exploratory sour that came to be after small batch trials of different fruit and herb combinations is Revive, a refreshing mix of pineapple and chamomile. It’s a tart and tropical blonde ale that goes well with pork dishes and tangy pairing like goat cheese on toasted sourdough.

Next week on November 13, the Upland crew will head to Charleston, South Carolina, partnering with Rafa Distributing. “Charleston is foodie paradise and we can’t wait for lowcountry residents and visitors to enjoy our sours paired with fresh seafood and savory southern dishes, said Howe.” Following the Charleston launch, Upland will finish out the last week of the month in Tulsa, Oklahoma, working with Boardwalk Distribution. Hopsynth, Darken, and Cherry will be making their way to these markets, along with small batch brews for launch events.

Hopsynth, Darken, and Revive can be found in 500 ml bottle and Cherry in 750 ml bottles in select shops, and will shortly be followed by two revered sours, Prim and Crimson. Alongside these beers, Upland will also bring rare, small batch brews for fans to savor on draught during launch events across all markets.
