From River North Brewing:
On Saturday, November 25th, River North Brewery will unveil The Vicennial Series. This boundary pushing project includes three whiskey barrel-aged behemoths intended to age up to twenty years – a vicennium. The beers include:
Vicennial I: God Complex, an infallible abbey-style quadrupel fit for the daftest of monks, finishing at 17.6% ABV. Rich and warming with massive burnt caramel and toffee notes, God Complex presents like a fine port, with hints of vanilla layered on classic quad esters of figs, rum-raisin, and dates.
Vicennial II: Shadowman, a smoothly sinister block-out-the-sun-style stout at 15.7% ABV. Rife with notes of high-cacao dark chocolate and espresso with unfathomable depth, this enigmatic stout veils its true bite behind a mask of copious dark roast.
Vicennial III: Father Time, a dapper old ale coming in at 16.0% ABV. The quintessential style intended for aging, creamy and nutty with a dessert-like fruity nose, light chocolate notes and a striking balance of barrel and malt.
All three beers debut at Noon on tap and in bottles to go in the River North taproom, with the brewery offering $15 bottles with a six-bottle limit on all three varietals. In addition, River North will release a limited amount of the 2016 vintage Decennial Series, on tap and in bottles as well. These rare bottles were the precursors to the Vicennials, before barrel aging. Decennial bottles will run $12 each with a six-bottle limit on all three.
As River North’s most ambitious barrel project to date, neither The Vicennial Series nor its Decennial counterparts will be sold outside the taproom. The only way to score these cellar centerpieces is to visit the brewery, just north of downtown Denver. The release also coincides with Small Business Saturday. As a small independent brewery, River North wishes to thank all its fans for their support.
To finish off the year, River North will also release Mr. Sandman and Barrel Aged Mr. Sandman imperial stouts on December 9th, followed by the last Single Cask release of the year: Tripel aged in Manhattan cocktail barrels, set for December 30th.
As independent Denver brewers established in 2012, River North Brewery crafts #AdventureFuel only available in Colorado, with a full lineup of crushable cans and cellar-worthy bottles. Like the brewery atfacebook.com/rivernorthbrewery or follow and tag @rivernorthbrew on Twitter and Instagram.
