Minneapolis, MN, Oct. 9, 2017 - Wild Mind Artisan Ales, the south Minneapolis brewery specializing in creating nontraditional beers using old world brewing techniques, is proud to announce The Forgotten Barrel Society, a members-only club for access to exclusive, limited bottled beer, among other benefits.
Included in the price of membership into The Forgotten Barrel Society are 10 special members-only bottled beers, to be released over the next year. The beers may include the wild, sour, farmhouse, rustic ales, or other styles. Additional benefits include an annual society members party, discounts on all purchases at the Wild Mind taproom, front-of-line access to all public beer releases, and more.
“We created the Forgotten Barrel Society to get exclusive, limited bottles into the hands of passionate fans of our wild, sour beers,” said Wild Mind co-founder and head brewer Mat Waddell. “We knew we wanted to create a members-only program since the very beginning. The launch of the Forgotten Barrel Society is the result of five years of careful planning, and we’re so excited to kick off the club’s first year. These are some of our most exciting beers – some could be blended and aged for months, or even years. The styles and release schedule will be unpredictable by nature, but we know our fans will have the patience to wait until these brews are they are just right.”
One-year memberships for 2018 will be available for purchase online for $300 on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at noon. The Forgotten Barrel Society is strictly limited to 300 members, one membership per person.

The Members-Only Bottle Releases
As a Forgotten Barrel Society member, you’ll receive 10 exclusive bottled sour beers that are handpicked for members by the Wild Mind team. These beers are included in the price of membership and could include lambics, krieks, coolship beers, blends, and a wide range of other aged, funked-up sours. Because these beers can take a long time to create, we don’t know when they’ll be available, and therefore we won’t have a set release schedule.
Forgotten Barrel Society beers will be held for 60 days for pickup in the tasting room during our regular hours. If you do not live locally, you can assign a proxy to pick up your allotment of bottles when you purchase your membership.
If there are any extra member-exclusive beer bottles, Society members will have the opportunity to purchase additional bottles on a first-come, first-served basis.
