It’s a catchy brewery name and a cool label, so how could I resist. This is Ashes To Ashes from Black Plague Brewing in Oceanside, CA. The beer is a Bourbon barrel-aged (Heaven Hill) imperial red ale and I can’t help but be reminded of the classic Mad Magazine Spy vs Spy a bit by this label. The beer is brewed with caramel malts as well as Citra and Simcoe hops and it is an ode to the millions of victims of the plague. This is the 750ml bottle and the beer hits 10.9%-AbV. Be sure to read the cool label text on the backing label for the origins of the naming. We also have Tropicus tropical pale ale brewed with blood orange and grapefruit (5.3%-AbV, 47 IBU, 12oz cans)
