Victory Adding New Sour Monkey Remix Bottles

Victory Adding New Sour Monkey Remix BottlesToday we get our first peek at an updated classic brew coming to bottles (and kegs) from Victory Brewing in Downingtown, PA.  This is Sour Monkey Remix and it is a sour brettanomyces triple that is now aged in Chardonnay wine barrels.  This former brewpub-exclusive version will climb in at 9.5%-ABV and you’re looking at the 750ml bottle.  The bottle is marked for 2018 release so stay tuned here for more details.  This is the commercial description from Victory:

Now usually we don’t do this, but sometimes an instant classic is just begging for a remix. Chardonnay barrel aging puts a whole new spin on our already tastefully twisted Sour Monkey, with notes of vanilla and oak rounding out its lemony tart tang and dry finish. Experience this exclusive, next level evolution of our beloved Golden Monkey® for yourself. Respect the Monkey and Taste Victory!

Composition

Malt: Pilsner

Hops: German Tettnang Tettnang

ABV: 9.5%

Flavor

Pours a slightly hazy dirty blonde hue. Aroma is full of white oak, vanilla, and acidity. Flavor has a similar contribution but with a rounded flavor to the acidity to cut on its bite. Lemons, oak, tart brew. Bone dry finish. Very balanced and drinkable.

Availability

Sour Monkey Remix is a brewpub-exclusive available in 750 ml bottles in our retail locations and on draft in our brewpubs for a limited time.
