Pizza Port Beer & Marina Kitchen Collaborate On “To Bee Or Not To Bee”

Marriott Marquis San Diego’s Marina Kitchen has teamed up with award-winning San Diego cult brewery, Pizza Port Brewing Co., to create a one-time spring brew, which was brewed and kegged at their Ocean Beach location. Inspired by the ingredients, including honey from the hotel’s very own bees, the name “To Bee Or Not To Be,” was selected through Marriott’s social media contest.

The limited-edition beer, which can best be described as a honey lemon golden ale, debuts in early March and will be available at Marina Kitchen—333 W Harbor Dr. San Diego—and all Pizza Port Brewing Co. locations for $8.

Marina Kitchen’s team, led by Sommelier Michael Pickering, collaborated with Head Brewer, Matt Palmer, to create the special beer, featuring local lemons and honey sourced from Marriott’s very own rooftop hives (implemented to promote bee conservation while also allowing for honey-inspired fare) as well as pale malt for a full body and a robust finish.

Marina Kitchen’s Pizza Port Brewing Co. beer follows their December 2016 collaboration with Stone Brewing. In April, Marina Kitchen will team up with Mother Earth Brewing Co.
