We brought you a peek in Aug, and now the fiull details from Dogfish Head:
Milton, DE., November 1, 2016 – Dogfish Head is delivering double the delight this holiday season with the release of two dark and delicious, winter seasonal stouts. Beer for Breakfast, a tricked out full-bodied stout, and World Wide Stout, a roasty, ageable port-like brew, will be available for hearty enjoyment in limited supply beginning November 7th.
Beer for Breakfast serves up a smorgasbord of thoughtfully sourced ingredients for the blue plate aficionado, all of which are to be savored in this flavorfully robust, cozy stout. Coffee, brown sugar, maple syrup, and a myriad of additional yummy ingredients provide a good mornin’ foundation for this breakfast themed, feast of a brew. The iconic star of the Beer for Breakfast stout is Rapa Scrapple – a classic Mid-Atlantic staple to the most important meal of the day. Scrapple is affectionately described as an ‘everything but the kitchen sink’ type of meat as it’s a patty made from pork scraps, cornmeal and spices. "The recipe for our original breakfast beer Chicory Stout, just turned 21 this year. Legal drinking age. To mark this momentous occasion we have taken a couple decades experience brewing with culinary goodness & combined our favorite pure, all-natural breakfast ingredients into a beer that we will think you will agree is the most important meal of the day," said Sam Calagione, Dogfish Head founder & president. Clocking in at 7.4% ABV and 30 IBU’s, dark beer aficionados will enjoy the aromatic notes of coffee and smoke, subtle maple and spice.
Rich, roasty and complex, World Wide Stout is arriving for an encore just in time for winter coziness this holiday season. Brewed with a bulk-ton of barley, this ageable ale clocks in at 15-20% ABV and has a depth more in line with a fine port or a rich madeira. World Wide debuted in the winter of 1999, and the staying power of this brew is indisputable. “Like Fort & 120 Minute IPA, World Wide Stout only gets better in its golden years. Allow it to mature in your beer cellar and you’ll find the heat of the booze fades into the background and the port notes and roastiness take over and merge harmoniously into a timeless aged ale”, said Calagione.
Beer for Breakfast and World Wide Stout will be available on taps and retail shelves in D.C. and the 30 states that currently provide delicious DFH beers. Savor these stouts with someone you love. For more information, visit dogfish.com.
