From Harpoon:
Throughout the year, our charitable arm Harpoon Helps supports hundreds of charities through in-kind donations and events. This October, in honor of good health and all the women in our lives, Harpoon will be joining the national efforts of Breast Cancer Awareness Month! Want to help us fight breast cancer this October? There are two ways awesome you can help!
On Monday, October 24th, we’ll be hosting our first annual “Harpoon Kicks Cancer” event, featuring Kick It By Eliza. Eliza will guide us through a music-driven, sweat-inducing, kickboxing-inspired fitness class in our Boston Beer Hall. Tickets sales will benefit the Ellie Fund (more info below!). Come work up a sweat and raise a pint to Breast Cancer Awareness Month! Learn more here. Tickets go on sale 9/29 and will sell out fast.
The second way you can join the cause in October is even easier: all you need to do is drink a beer! Our UFO RAZ happens to be a delicious, bright pink beer and thought: breast cancer awareness and the color pink go hand in hand- we HAVE to do something with this beer! So for the month of October, Harpoon Helps will donate $1/pint of UFO RAZ sold at our breweries in Boston, MA, and Windsor, VT, to local breast cancer charities.
At our Boston brewery, funds will go to the Ellie Fund, based in Needham, MA. They provide essential support services for breast cancer patients to ease the stresses of everyday life, allowing the focus to be on family, recovery, and healing. This is done through transportation to medical appointments, childcare, housekeeping, groceries and nutritious prepared/delivered meals free of charge to relieve a patient’s burden while in treatment.
At our Windsor brewery, funds will go to Casting for Recovery, based in Manchester, VT, whose mission is to enhance the quality of life of women with breast cancer through a unique program that combines breast cancer education and peer support with the therapeutic sport of fly fishing. The retreat for residents of Vermont/New Hampshire has held annually in Stowe, VT in May, and offer opportunities for women to find inspiration, discover renewed energy for life and experience healing connections with other women and nature.
We are hope you can visit us at our breweries every month—but this month in particular!—drink a UFO RAZ and help us support these wonderful, local organizations.
