From River Horse:
Did you know...
1 - Our Head Brewer, Chris, decided he wanted to make this beer after visiting Belgium and overly enjoying the Kriek lambics. Kriek lambic is a style of Belgian beer, made by fermenting lambic with sour Morello cherries.
2 - 550 lbs of cherries are added per tank! That means, 5% of the total volume of the beer is cherry!
3 - This style barely has any hops added because the lacto bacteria and hops don't agree.
4 - A three-stage fermentation process is used.
First with lacto bacteria
Second with our house ale strain
Third with the cherries
5 - Our bearded, burly brewers LOVE their cherry beer! Of all the beers we brew at River Horse, this is the house favorite!
