From our pal Luke Bowen at Evil Genius:
PHILADELPHIA, PA - We are more than excited to finally announce that Evil Genius Beer Company is coming
to 1727 N. Front St. in the Fishtown section of Philadelphia. We started construction a few months ago on our
6,000 square foot 100 year old warehouse, and we anticipate opening in the 4th quarter of 2016. The building will
be home to a small scale brewery and a large beer hall/tasting room for guests to enjoy house-made beer, as well
as food provided by food trucks.
"We've been looking for a home for over 4 years now" said Luke Bowen, co-owner of Evil Genius Beer
Company "and we couldn't be happier to have found one here in Fishtown. The neighborhood is a diverse mix of
down-to-earth people from all walks of life, and that's exactly who we wanted to surround ourselves with. We
think bringing business up Front St. will help make this part of our neighborhood a safer, cleaner place for
everyone to enjoy."
Evil Genius was founded in September of 2011 by Villanova grads Trevor Hayward & Luke Bowen. The beer is
currently brewed at a satellite facility in CT and is distributed in 6 states and Washington D.C. "We've looked at
a lot of properties" says Hayward "and for one reason or another they just didn't seem right. The moment we
stepped foot into this building, we knew we found the perfect place to call home."
Once open, guests can come enjoy an eclectic selection of house-made beers in a truly Philadelphian
environment - a beautiful old world industrial building with exposed brick and wood, massive ceilings, and just
the right peppering of modernity. The location is also less then 2 blocks away from a train stop, providing easy
and safe public transportation.
