New Holland Brewing Co. announces the second Dragon’s Milk Reserve of 2016: Dragon’s Milk Reserve Coffee & Chocolate. This variant of New Holland’s year-round, Bourbon Barrel Stout, begins shipping from New Holland’s production facility by the end of March and hitting stores and local watering holes soon after. This reserve blend is aged in bourbon barrels for three months, with coffee beans and cocoa nibs added during aging.

“We are thrilled to be re-releasing Dragon’s Milk Reserve Coffee & Chocolate as our second reserve in 2016 because it ‘earned its spot’ due to consumer’s reaction and demand from last year,” says Brett VanderKamp, president of New Holland. “The Dragon’s Milk Reserve series allows us a platform to bring both favorites and new flavors into the Dragon family and it keeps our fans (and us) guessing on what’s next. Dragons are a wily and tricky beast.”

The third quarter variant, scheduled to release in July, promises to be a never-before seen flavor profile.

All reserves will be released through all locations in which New Holland distributes. To find Dragon’s Milk Reserve Coffee & Chocolate in your area, use our Beer & Spirits Finder or ask your local retailer.

First released in 2001, Dragon’s Milk was one of the early bourbon barrel-aged stouts in the US. The barrel-aging scene has since exploded. Once a single-batch annual release, Dragon’s Milk has become New Holland’s largest selling year-round beer, gaining accolades and recognition internationally, including a silver medal in the Brussels Beer Challenge.

In 2015, New Holland renovated its production facility to expand its Dragon’s Milk cellar where more than 3,500 oak barrels can reside at one time.
