Dogfish Head Donates $80,000+ To Local Non-Profits

Each year, a diverse group of Dogfish Head co-workers form a committee to award funds to local non-profits in an effort to continue to enhance the quality of life in coastal Delaware.

This year the committee threw down the challenge to only Sussex County non-profits that promote the arts. Organizations were required to submit either a 2-minute video or perform a live presentation to the committee for review. Sounds fun, right?!

The Millsboro Art League (pictured above) was chosen as the recipient of the 2015 Dogfish Head Benevolence Award and was awarded $20,000 to further their work to promote the arts in Sussex County! There were also two runner-ups: The Cancer Support Community’s ‘Art Cart’ project, as well as the Seaford, Bridgeville and Greenwood Library Coalition that is establishing ‘Draw, Write, Publish’ after-school programs for area youths. Each was awarded $5,000.

2015 also marks the second year that the Dogfish Tour Team has opted to forgo tips and instead donate those tips to area non-profits. This year, the tour team raised over $50,000 for worthy causes in Delaware! Groups include: SPCA, Lewes Unleashed, Autism Delaware, Milford Senior Center, Very Special Arts, Home of the Brave, Urban Bike Project, The Nature Conservancy, Toys for Tots, Meals on Wheels, and Big Brothers, Big Sisters.
