The newest addition to the core Woodchuck Hard Cider portfolio, which was launched earlier this year, is beating all expectations. Since its launch in February 2015, Gumption® has skyrocketed to become the 2nd largest SKU, behind core Amber, the flagship that has been on the market for almost 25 years. With case sales closing in on 200,000, Gumption is proving to be a favorite among fans and industry experts alike. At the recent World Beer Championships held by the Beverage Tasting Institute, the cider received a Gold medal and a score of 91, a top score among American ‘common’ ciders.
In response to this unprecedented consumer demand, Woodchuck Cider has released a 22 oz. size (SRP: $4.99), just in time for the holidays. The new release will be supported with increased focus on Gump Day Hump Day sampling program, new mixology, and integration with existing social media efforts.
Gumption combines table fruit with European cider apples, creating a sweet apple taste with a dry finish. This unique combination is the most recent example of Woodchuck’s commitment to continual innovation to lead consumer preferences in the highly competitive cider category.
