Stone Berlin Accidentally Creates “Busted Gasket IPA”

imageFrom Stone:

This was the very first batch on our 10-hectoliter system, which was originally planned to be our recipe for Stone IPA. Because of a late-to-be discovered leaky gasket, our original gravity (OG) turned out a bit diluted during the brewing process.

Well, we like beer, and we don’t like to waste. So we made the best out of the situation by propagating our yeast, testing our dry-hopping procedure, and a couple weeks later we ran the beer through filter and kegging line – all for the very first time!

The outcome: A session IPA with 4.1 % alcohol by volume and 9.5 OG. Although we might not intentionally make this again, we ended up quite satisfied this “busted gasket” session IPA. We hope you do, too!
