Juli Goldenberg/Monkey Paw/Stone 24 Carrot Golden Ale
Several Stone Homebrew Competition winners have deftly incorporated culinary touches, but Juli Goldenberg’s triumphant 2015 recipe just might be the most foodie-forward of this blue-ribbon bunch. A Belgian-style golden strong ale proved to be the ideal canvas for decadent, creamy carrot cake-inspired flavors brought on by…yup…carrots as well as cinnamon, vanilla, milk sugar and raisins. For the third collaborator, Juli chose one whose palate-pleasing flair extends to the plates at its own pub: Monkey Paw Brewing Company. Beginning Monday, the beer will start arriving at retailers, bars and restaurants in 22-ounce bottles and on draft.

IT'S BACK:
Stone Coffee Milk Stout
Our bittersweet, creamy, coffee-laced milk stout is back for 2015, once again appearing in 12oz six-packs and on draft, starting Monday. The bitterness of the coffee is balanced out brilliantly by the milk sugar we use to add sweetness and creaminess to the stout’s smooth, easy-drinking texture. Those inviting flavors are supported by a bumped-up malt bill, giving this year’s version more body and a bit more oomph in the ABV department (from 4.2% to 5%).
