Listen to the Dawn of the Red Soundtrack!
Grab a Dawn of the Red and push play on this amazing compilation, featuring original and frighteningly awesome tracks by Ninkasi artists Rare Monk, Vokab Kompany, The Quick & Easy Boys, Gayle Skidmore, Growwler, Sapient, Bustin' Jieber, Black Beast Revival and Tyler Fortier!
These partner artists, ranging in sound and style, were asked to use “Dawn of the Red” as a focal lyric and to interpret the phrase however they choose. The outcome: a diverse offering of different genres, some literal in meaning, some metaphoric, all inspired by craft beer.
But don't just listen to us! Listen to how much other folks are digging the music of Ninkasi studios:
When we first met with our Artist in Residence Neal Williams (whose other clients include Queens of the Stone Age, Dave Matthews Band, Interpol, The Head and The Heart, Andrew Bird, Soundgarden, Dinosaur Jr., Low, Russian Circles, and Neurosis...no big deal), we said these words, “There’s a cityscape within Dawn of the Red’s packaging, and we want you to zoom in on what’s happening in that city. Use your unique style of art to complete the story behind Dawn of the Red.”
Neal then did what Neal does and created a killer triptych to tell the story behind our killer beer. His art showed a small but mighty group of humans, who banded together to fight off those infected by a mass global disaster deemed "Dawn of the Red." For this group of rebels, the rock and roll hand became a symbol of hope. It suggests that in the midst of un-paralleled, excruciating noise, man must always rock harder and louder than the infected.
We spent a few days introducing you to the characters that play a leading role in this story and filled you in on how they fared against the infected on the blog.
Grab a beer, your zombie fighting weapon of choice, and dig in!
