It’s no secret that we’re fond of anniversaries. They’re reminders of how far we’ve come and guideposts for where we’re going. And amazing beer is always involved.
So we’re celebrating, naturally, our 20th year—2016—with the Stone 20th Anniversary Encore Series, rebrewing some beloved beers that came and went…but were never forgotten. And we’re starting four months early. Naturally.
First up is Stone 08.08.08 Vertical Epic Ale. The encore edition features the same recipe and bottle art as the original release in 2008. Refresh your memory (or hear about it for the first time) by watching the official video. Dry-hopped with Simcoe and Amarillo hops, this strong Belgian-style IPA combines tropical, citrusy, piney hoppiness with the Belgian yeast’s tropical fruit, spice and pepper character.
The beer begins its journey in 22-ounce bottles and on draft on Monday, Sept. 21. Our 11-beer Vertical Epic Ale chapter closed three years ago, so feel free to crack it open immediately, or hold on to it. Or do both by grabbing more than one. As always, it’s your call.

On Oct. 18, Stone Brewing World Bistro & Gardens - Escondido becomes the dominion of some of the deepest, darkest brews ever conceived. Here’s the list of the stouts, porters, imperial stouts, obsidian-hued sours, black IPAs and more that will be dispensed into commemorative tasting glasses at Stone Pour It Black 2015. Spectacular beers such as AleSmith/Mikkeller Beer Geek Speedway, Avery Tweak, Courage Imperial Russian Stout and Ken Schmidt/Iron Fist/Stone Mint Chocolate Imperial Stout. We told you the dark side is delicious.
