From DC Brau:

September is off to a great start! We're looking forward to heading out to Denver in a couple of weeks for the Great American Beer Festival. In the meantime, we'll see you this weekend at Snallygaster, where we'll be debuting our Oktoberfest (also available at the brewery), H Street Festival and The Improv for some Hopped Up Hilarity! Check out the calendar for all the great events we have lined up around the DMV and at the brewery in September. Be sure you're following us on Twitter and Facebook to see where we've been and know about all the great places we're going to be over the next few weeks. Cheers!

Oktoberfest is Here! Releases This Saturday at the Brewery & Snallygaster

For the 2nd year, we're producing a traditional German-Style Oktoberfestbier. Jeff & the team revised the recipe from last year changing the base malt to be entirely made up of roughly 75% Munich malt and 25% Vienna malt. They've also dialed down the IBU's from last year's version to create a more balanced lager that will definitely hit all the cues of this classic German style.

DC Brau's Oktoberfest has a classic light amber to copper hue that is topped with intense German malt aromas of toasty bread, light caramel and faint biscuit. It's supported by a traditionally light Noble hop aroma that complements the rich malty notes. The mouthfeel is smooth and creamy with a medium body that gives it a pleasing richness. The hops perfectly compliment the dominant malt character to form a very refreshing Oktoberfestbier that can be enjoyed all thru the fall months.
