Santa Fe, New Mexico - the Santa Fe Brewing Company is thrilled to bring back their Fall
seasonal, Oktoberfest. This malty Märzen is our ode to the German festival favorite. Here in
America it’s perfect for those cooler days as the seasons change from pilsner to stout, and the
leaves from green to orange and yellow. “The Oktoberfest style is the quintessential Fall beer. It’s
not as light in taste as what most consider to be Summer beers, nor is it as deep and dark as the
beers typical of the winter. It has a medium mouthfeel and toasty and sweet malts up front, and
then cleans up really crisp, with that lager finish. It’s a nice middle ground,” Alana Jones, General
Manager of Santa Fe brewing said, when asked how they chose this particular seasonal. On
Saturday, August 8th, we will commence our three month long Oktoberfest season, with a kick-off
party from noon to 5 pm, complete with Santa Fe’s famous Dr. Field Goods food truck serving
farm fresh traditional German food along with other local favorites. Come one, come all!
One does not need to don a pair of lederhosen to enjoy this festive brew. This beer has
enough Oompah on it’s own to make every party a beer fest. The bright blue and white linked
diamonds of the Bavarian flag, which completely cover the can, will surely make any home into a
beer hall. Just add the beer festers and pop the top.
True to style, the classic Munich Malt compounded with the light-bodied Pilsen make for
a beautiful ruby-colored beer with rich, complex flavor and a smooth finish, reminding us that it’s
what’s on the inside of the can that matters most. Brewed with a thoughtful blend of Bavarian
hops, of the Hallertau Mittelfruh and Tettnanger variety, this beer has passed the test of many
beer-festing purists, while delighting many more that have only just arrived to the party. Though
it doesn’t need to be sipped from a stein or drank while dancing to polka music, this true Fall
lager is as satisfyingly quaffable as any that have ever weighed down the table of a German beer
garden, bringing Bavaria to your doorstep, and you to the festival. Prost!
