From Boulevard:
June 5, 2015 – Kansas City – Almost one year to the day removed from the release of Championship Ale, Boulevard’s first beer collaboration with Sporting Kansas City celebrating the team’s 2013 MLS Cup win, our two local brands are proud to share the news of our latest collaborations. A new line of co-branded apparel will be sold at Sporting Park for the first time on Saturday, followed by more goods coming in later weeks. The new apparel will also be available at the Westport Beer Festival on June 13 and throughout Boulevardia June 19-21. Boulevard will be carrying the merchandise at the brewery later in the month as well. Original designs featuring both brands, along with a strong Kansas City presence, will be featured on items from shirts and hats, to scarves and glassware.
“Our partnership with Sporting Kansas City remains one of the most unique and complementary in our respective industries,” said Jeremy Ragonese, Director of Marketing for Boulevard Brewing Company. “Our focus on fans is demonstrated in a number of ways throughout the community, and every time we are able to bring that connection to life, it underscores the power and promise of being a Kansas City brand.”
“This new wave of collaboration reflects the incredible synergy between our two brands,” said Andy Tretiak, Chief Marketing Officer of Sporting Kansas City. “We have always wanted to create an apparel line together and felt the timing was right this year. We hope fans of both Boulevard and Sporting Kansas City will love the new designs.”
In addition to the new merchandise, fans will also have a chance to sip Boulevard’s new Sporting Saison, a limited release, draft-only version similar to the popular 2014 Championship Ale release. The traditional farmhouse ale is described as a refreshing, easy-drinking beer with a light citrus flavor with subtle spicy notes, medium body and a minimal hop presence. The beer will make its first appearance in Sporting Park on July 18, followed by select bars and restaurants throughout the Greater Kansas City area. Proceeds from the sale of Sporting Saison will be going to support LiveKC, an initiative founded by Sporting ownership and other member companies to “make Kansas City a more attractive place for Millennials to live, work and play.” LiveKC has hosted events such as The Fiery Stick Open, The Midnight Underground Circus, and The Backyard at Barney Allis Plaza taking place this summer.
Both the beer and the merchandise are expected to be available throughout Sporting’s remaining 2015 season. For more details on shopping hours or game tickets, visitBoulevard.com or SportingKC.com.
