As of April, 2015 Harrisonburg’s award-winning brewery is changing things up. Originally Three Brothers Brewing Co., we have made the decision to rename and rebrand our business as Brothers Craft Brewing.
It’s no secret that the craft beer market in the US is becoming more crowded by the day and that protecting ones identity is more important than ever.
Due to a minor legal issue concerning another craft brewery located outside of Virginia, had we chosen to remain Three Brothers, our future distribution would essentially be limited to within the Virginia state lines. We clearly understood the limitations this would place on the business, but we also thought such a restriction would be unfair to both current and future fans of our products.
While Brothers Craft Brewing currently only distributes along the I-81 corridor and in Richmond, we see abundant growth in our future.
Despite the challenges associated with a change of this scale, we strongly feel the new name represents the brewery’s growth and direction. What started as three brothers following a passion has become something far greater than we ever imagined. After the brewery opened its doors in December of 2012, we quickly realized that our staff, our customers, and our collaborators have all become family. So why limit the brotherhood to three?
While the brewery’s name is changing, you can still expect the same quality and variety of unique beers you’ve come to love. Our flagship brews (Hoptimization, Great Outdoors, and The Admiral) will still be available year-round. Brothers Craft Brewing will offer the same seasonals as well as our boldest crowd-pleasers, such as Smooth Sailor, 5lb Fall, and of course, Resolute.
Brothers Craft Brewing will be implementing changes in packaging and merchandise throughout the spring and into the summer.
So spread the word and join the brotherhood!
