Hop Shop Brewing Company To Be 1st Phoenix Brew-On-Premise Operation

PHOENIX (April 21, 2015)  –  Raising $200,000 in 30 days for a dream project is the goal of four Valley entrepreneurs who have their sights set on re-defining the art of craft beer-making in Arizona.  Not a typical brewery like those popping up in other parts of the city, Hop Shop Brewing Company looks to be the first true consumer Brew-On-Premise operation in the greater Phoenix metro area.

Citing the fact that the Arizona craft beer market is booming and that consumers are steadily developing a palate for unique beer styles, the team behind Hop Shop Brewing envisions a consumer destination where those who wish to make their own brew can do so without incurring the expense of bulky and costly equipment.  Additionally, seasoned home-brewers will have the opportunity to use the higher volume professional equipment used on-site by Hop Shop Brewing to create its own house beers.

The four-person team behind Hop Shop Brewing Company includes seasoned marketing, advertising, banking and media professionals from Phoenix who also happen to be long-time beer makers.  Morgan Ringwald, Bryan Rathbun, Cassie Rathbun and Scott Kelly have been honing their business plan for over a year in preparation of their first round of funding through Kickstarter, and they feel that their beer recipes and business model are ready to take to the market.

Hop Shop Brewing calls its business a “craft brew incubator”, a place where beer lovers, home-brew enthusiasts and professional breweries from around the Valley can come together to create beers in an environment based on exploration and innovation.

“Our dream is all about bringing the experience and the fun of making your own beer to everyone who has ever considered it as a hobby,” says Morgan Ringwald, the visionary behind the Hop Shop Brewing concept. “We want to be at the center of where new craft brew ideas are born, whether they come from us, our customers, home brewing clubs or other Valley breweries.  Every beer lover is welcome.”

Adds Ringwald, “We think of Hop Shop Brewing as a destination similar to a kids paint-your-own pottery shop, except for adults.”

Hop Shop Brewing will feature more than 50 different beer recipes for customers to make and bottle in five gallon batches that they can take home to share with family and friends.  On the brewery’s large-scale system, more seasoned home-brewers will have the opportunity to make larger batches, some of which will go home with them and the rest of which will be featured on tap at Hop Shop Brewing.

Additional in-store opportunities  include guest brewing sessions with top brewmasters from around Arizona and the rest of the country, private brewing parties and corporate team building events.

To get their dream off the ground, the team at Hop Shop Brewing Company have launched a Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign that they hope will raise enough working capital to avoid debt or equity financing.  The campaign officially launched on Tuesday, April 21st and will run for 30 days.  Hop Shop Brewing Company set its official goal at $25,000, but it expects to raise full funding in the area of $200,000 by the end of the campaign.

“We have a fantastic personal and professional network of supporters who believe in not only our dreams, but in our ability to successfully create a new and unique business,” says Ringwald.  “Hop Shop Brewing isn’t only for us, it’s for everyone who loves a finely crafted beer.  If that’s you, we invite you to be a part of the dream and pledge your support on Kickstarter today.”
