From Woodchuck:
MIDDLEBURY, VT March 13, 2015 -
Since its inception in a Vermont two-car garage in 1991, Woodchuck Hard Cider has focused on crafting the highest quality cider. Quality cider begins with the best ingredients, and the state of Michigan is known for growing some of the finest apples in the US.
In 2014, Woodchuck launched Vermont Local Nectar, a cider made using 100% Vermont apples. Since Michigan grows some of the highest quality apples in the country, it made sense for the brand to pay tribute to the state by creating a new Michigan Local Nectar, using 100% Michigan-grown apples.
Local Nectar is made with a mix of red delicious and golden delicious apples, sourced from orchards in Northern Michigan. It has a light and crisp, semi-dry flavor, and represents a pure reflection of the fantastic apple crop Michigan is known for. The ABV is 6.9%, and the MSRP for a six-pack is $11.99.
“Woodchuck has long been committed to partnering with apple growers to produce the best tasting, highest quality cider out there,” said Woodchuck President and CEO Dan Rowell. “We are dedicated to cidermaking, it’s the only thing we do, and Local Nectar is a nod to the apple growers in Michigan who help us make our cider the best in the nation.”
Local Nectar will be available year-round in limited quantities in Michigan beginning in March 2015. For more information about Woodchuck, or to find Local Nectar at a location near you, visithttp://www.woodchuck.com, or download our new mobile app, available for iOS and Android users.
