From Sanitas Brewing:
Feb 20, 2015 – On the heels of the first release in Sanitas Brewing Company’s new Wild and Sour Project, the Boulder brewery is set to unveil the second installment in the series. Bramble, a blackberry sour ale, will be released on draft at Sanitas’ Tap Room on Monday, February 23rd.
“We often hear people say they don’t like fruit beers,” explained Sanitas’ Co-Founder Zach Nichols, “Bramble will make them second guess that notion. It’s loaded with complex sour notes, deep oak undertones, and finishes crisp and dry with a lingering blackberry characteristic.”
The brewers at Sanitas brewed a batch of pale wort last Winter. The beer was then transferred to and fermented in neutral oak barrels with a proprietary blend of wild yeast and bacteria. Blackberries were added near the end of fermentation for further layers of complexity. Pouring light ruby in color and 4% ABV., Bramble is a beautiful example of sour, barrel-fermented fruit beer.
Bramble will be released to the public in Sanitas’ Tap Room Monday, February 23rd when they open at 3pm.
