"La Mort Rouge - Vintage 2015"

Belgian style strong dark ale aged in red wine barrels

Release date: Tuesday, February 10th

La Mort Rouge is born from a marriage between La Petite Mort, our dark Belgian style strong ale, and red wine barrels from our friends at Efeste winery in the Woodinville valley. In La Mort Rouge, we use multiple specialty malts to create a rich, complex beer and then balance that with red wine tannin from maturation in barrels.

LIMITED ANNUAL RELEASE: Taproom only with 375ml bottles to follow later in the month. Sorry, no growler fills.

LA MORT ROUGE 2018

Belgian style dark ale aged in red wine barrels

Release date: Saturday, February 10th

We have aged our 2017 Belgian inspired dark ale, La Petite Mort, in red wine barrels for almost one year. The use of red wine barrels has added a level of tannins which linger with the soft undertones of previous resident of the barrels. The wine notes linger deep and rich against the forefront of malt and background of a subtle woodiness.

Honest beer styles grow from adherence to location. In the Northwest the gap between wine and beer is shrinking because locally we produce complex, unique and world class styles of both. This is partially due to growing conditions which yield complex grapes, and some of the worlds most prolific, varied and layered hops. This yields opportunities rich in experimentation.

ABV: 10.4%

Draft and 375ml bottles to go (4 bottle limit)
