Here’s a peek at SweetWater 18. This Belgian-style sour tripel (see update below) ale will celebrate their 18th anniversary and it will be fermented with Ardennes and brettanomyces yeast. The beer was then racked into “Lactobacillus-spiked” American Oak Merlot and Cabernet wine barrels. Look for 18 to be packaged in 750ml bottles and the beer comes in at 6.9% ABV. Stay tuned for release details.
UPDATE 9 Feb 2015: SweetWater has now increased the ABV to 10% (below) and the style is now a Tripel that will use Ardennes yeast and Belgian candy sugar.
