Boulevard Brewing Simplifies Bottle Date Coding

image
From our pal Jeremy Danner at Boulevard Brewing:

In the interest of a more consumer friendly bottle code, 2015 will see us switch from using a Julian code to indicate the day on which beer was bottled to simply sharing information in the following standard format:

LMMDDYY HHMM BBT
BEST BY MM/DD/YYYY
The top line (beginning after the letter “L” which stands for “lot”) will indicate the date and time that beer was bottled. “BBT” will be replaced by a letter (A-F) which informs you from which bright beer tank the beer was packaged.
For example:

L010515 0822 A indicates the beer was bottled on January 5th, 2015 at 8:22 AM from bright beer tank A.
In addition to including a bottled on date, our beers will continue to carry a best by date that won’t see any changes.
