From Pisgah:
Pisgah Brewing in Black Mountain, NC is set to release their award winning Chocolatized Vortex II (which will now only be known as Chocolatized) in 22oz bottles and on draft on Tuesday, November 18th at their taproom. The limited 5bbl batch will only produce around 40 cases to be sold in bottle, so a pre-order has been set-up through Pisgah Brewing’s venue ticketing partner, TicketBiscuit. Bottles will be $12 each, and the release will begin at6pm.
It was much to the surprise of the Pisgah Brewers to have gotten a text from a fellow brewer marking that they had won a Gold Medal at the 214 Great American Beer Festival (GABF). Held annually in Denver, CO, the GABF is considered the mecca of American craft brewing, and those that are awarded the coveted medals often make them a pedestal for marking their product among the elite in American craft beer.
Pisgah Brewing Company has often been deemed one of the treasures of the WNC region across the nearly 10 years of serving craft beer to the Asheville community, but their often-unconventional recipes have been more decorated in regional championships than the stiffly traditional judging found at national beer competitions. Thus it is only fitting that one of the more unconventional beers of Pisgah Brewing’s long history - a Russian Imperial Stout aged on raw cocoa nibs from French Broad Chocolate Factory of Asheville - brought home a Gold Medal in the Chocolate Beer category at GABF 2014.
The release will also feature a chocolate pairing from French Broad Chocolate Factory. A pair of chocolate raspberry truffles will be sold separate or with a flight of “Dirty Raz”, one of the Pisgah staff’s favorite flight pairings consisting of a flight each of Chocolatized and Framboise.
Bottle pre-sales will begin on Friday, November 14th at 10:00am ET. Purchaser’s credit card MUST match the person’s ID and must be 21 or older. No refunds will be given for underage purchases or unmatched credit cards or IDs.
Pre-sales can be found at the following link on Friday, November 14th at 10am ET: https://public.ticketbiscuit.com/PisgahBrewing/Ticketing/219286
