DuClaw Brewing Bourbon-Aged Week Begins 9/22

It’s no secret that we’re big fans of Bourbon barrel-aging. The process adds a whole new dimension to each beer, bringing out unexpected flavors and aromas, while simultaneously infusing the brew with notes of smoke, vanilla, caramelized sugar, and charred wood from the barrel.



To celebrate our love of good wood, we’re releasing some of our best Bourbon barrel-aged creations for just one day each, five days in a row. Welcome to Bourbon Week!



MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 22nd:
Ghost Pepper Cocoa Fuego
Cocoa Fuego is a classic stout, jet black in color with a tan, rocky head, and full-bodied with a smooth yet prickly mouthfeel. Its lightly sweet, malty flavor is accented by strong notes of chocolate and espresso, that balance a spicy chipotle pepper bite and moderately strong 7.5% abv. Bourbon barrel-aged with the 3rd hottest pepper on planet Earth at over 1 million SHUs, the Bhut Jolokia or “Ghost Pepper”.



TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 23rd:
Cherry Bare Ass Blonde
This classic Blonde Ale is a golden, medium-bodied brew with a persistent white head, moderate 5% abv, and mild hop character. Bare Ass Blonde is smoothly drinkable, with a clean, light malt flavor accentuated by the addition of cherries to the barrel during aging, and a crisp, refreshing, fruity finish.



WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 24th:
Old Flame
Old Flame flirts with a sweet, malty aroma accented with notes of molasses and dark fruit, before seducing you with a complex flavor profile of rich caramel malt flavor, molasses, a strong 7% abv, and just enough hop bitterness to remain balanced. Aged inside Kentucky white oak bourbon barrels to turn our sassy heartbreaker into a sophisticated B.I.L.T. (Barrel-aged-beer I’d Love to Taste).



THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 25th:
Trinidad Moruga Scorpion Cocoa Fuego
By this point, you’ll have already tasted our Chocolate Chipotle Stout Bourbon barrel-aged with the world’s 3rd hottest pepper, so why not try it with the world’s 2nd hottest pepper? Cocoa Fuego Bourbon barrel-aged with Trinidad Moruga Scorpion peppers (at over 1.2 million SHUs) - drink this revolution at your own risk!



FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 26th:
Intravenous Retribution
A barrel-aged, 10% abv blend of Serum XXIPA and Retribution Bourbon Barrel-aged Imperial Stout! The addition of Serum adds malty sweetness and fruity complexity and an overall increase in hop presence to our Bourbon Barrel-aged Imperial Stout’s warm, roasty flavor profile. Get a dose of justice!
