Some updates coming from Troegs:
North Carolina Expansion --We're
gearing up to open our first new market in over five years! By September, you can expect to see Tröegs beers stocked in North Carolina retailers and flowing in your favorite drinking establishment. We’ll have two of our year-round offerings – Perpetual IPA and Troegenator Double Bock – available in both 12oz. bottles and 1/2- and 1/6-barrel kegs, as well DreamWeaver Wheat in kegs only. Our brand new Hop Cycle seasonal release for fall, Hop Knife Harvest Ale, will also make its debut in North Carolina. Additionally, our Anthology variety 12-packs will be available in all markets. To date, we’ve signed with the following distributors to help bring our beers to thirsty craft beer drinkers in North Carolina: R.H. Barringer, RA Jeffreys, Adams Beverages, The Best of Beers and Harris Distributors. With these distributors behind Tröegs, we are able to offer our handcrafted beers in the greater Charlotte, Durham, Goldsboro, Greensboro, Raleigh, Wilmington, and Winston-Salem areas. “We have been excited for a long time about working with Tröegs Brewery and it's now a reality,” said Kelly Gorman of RA Jeffreys Distributors. “The demand is there in our market and we're ready to supply it.” We’re looking forward to joining the ranks of other northerners who have relocated to The Triangle. “Being from the Mid-Atlantic region, we have a lot of recognition with North Carolinians,” added Chris Trogner. “With our new fermentation tanks, filtration and carbonation system, and expanded production, we are anxious to become a part of this growing craft beer community!”
Up next in our Hop Cycle seasonal series is Hop Knife Harvest Ale. Hop Knife recognizes the meticulous, time-honored tradition of hand-harvesting hops at the peak of maturity. Our HopCyclone process creates an inward spiral of hop dispersal during fermentation to release a bounty of citrus, resin, and tropical aromas. Packed full of fresh hoppy flavor, Hop Knife features Cascade, Chinook and El Dorado in the boil and Centennial, Citra and Columbus dry hops. We have already begun shipping Hop Knife to our eight-county home market during the last week of July, and will follow with all other markets through the beginning of August. In addition to cases and 6-packs of 12oz. bottles, Hop Knife will be available in both 1/2- and 1/6-barrel kegs. Additionally, we will release Anthology Fall in conjunction with Hop Knife, which also features HopBack Amber, Pale Ale, and Troegenator Double Bock.
Autumn will be here before you know it, so we’d like to offer a little taste of what’s to come with a sneak peek of our limited fall release, Master of Pumpkins. Brewed with Pennsylvania neck pumpkins planted and harvested especially for Tröegs by our friends at Strites’ Orchard in Harrisburg, Master of Pumpkins conjures the spirit of autumn by combining roasted pumpkins and traditional pie spices with a French saison yeast. The process first began back in May, when Chris and John took to the seeding tractor to plant a quarter-acre of pumpkin seeds dedicated solely to Master of Pumpkins. Over the next few months, we documented the growth of the pumpkins from the first saplings to the beautiful, nearly mature neck pumpkins. “We wanted people to enjoy Master of Pumpkins during the fall season,” said John Trogner. “Working with Strites’ was crucial to the process because we really wanted to incorporate the seasonality of the pumpkin rather than release it in the summer, when most pumpkin beers come out.” Look for Master of Pumpkins in early September, packaged this year in 4-packs and cases of 375mL cork and cage bottles, as well as limited draft availability.
