Here’s your first look at the packaging for West Sixth Brewing Pay It Forward Cocoa Porter.  For every six pack sold, West Sixth will donate .50 to local charities.  Look for Pay It Forward to be packaged in 12oz cans.

This from West Sixth:

We’re excited to announce today the 4th beer in our year-round lineup: the Pay it Forward Cocoa Porter.

Based on the buzz in our taproom, this is going to make a lot of you all really, really happy!

We’ve had this beer available on and off since November of 2012, when we launched the Blue Grass Community Foundation’s Good Giving Guide project with it’s debut.

It’s a robust American porter that has been brewed with Organic, direct-trade Cocoa nibs. Nearly opaque with a tan head, this beer clocks in at a 7% ABV and is dominated by roasty malts and a strong aroma of chocolate.

We’re also excited to announce a new program that will go along with this beer. For each 6-pack sold, we’re going to donate $.50 to a non-profit in the area to help them continue doing the great work that they’re doing. We’ll make these donations quarterly, and will rely on feedback and input from our customers and fans to select the non-profit in each area.

By working with some great partners at Taza Chocolates, we can guarantee not only were the growers in Central and South America paid a fair wage for growing the beans, but also they were grown in an organic and sustainable manner, and are sent to us incredibly fresh.

The beer will be available throughout West Sixth’s distribution area in kegs and cans beginning in September.
