Summit & Bang Brewing Collaboration Beer

image
From Summit Brewing:

Minnesota breweries are In Cahoots for an upcoming collaboration beer throwdown and block party at the Red Stag Supper Club.

Summit is happy to be teamed up with Bang Brewing Company, a small 10-barrel brewery nestled in an industrial area west of the Hamline-Midway area of Saint Paul. Husband and wife brew team Sandy and Jay Boss Febbo specialize in producing organic ales that are served from their wonderful taproom and also available at a few accounts in Saint Paul.

When Summit brewer Mike Lundell got together with Sandy and Jay to discuss the collaboration project, they all liked the idea of doing a modern take on a classic recipe. So Mike dug up Summit founder Mark Stutrud's hand-written brew sheet notes from an old-school brew day of Summit's Sparkling Ale. This was the inspiration for the Summit/Bang beer. But being an organic brewery with some unique resources - Bang mixed it up a bit for a fresh 2014 take on the beer.

They all got together on Monday, July 7 for the brew day and everything went really well. The beer is now fermenting and we'll update this blog with tasting notes and more information in the coming weeks.
