Pisgah Brewing & Burial Beer Co. Co-Brewed "Cemetery Gates" 7/17

From Pishag:

With the ever-growing family of Asheville beer-makers has come a slew of collaborations between the region’s many breweries.  From each end of the chronological spectrum of Asheville beer, Pisgah Brewing Company and Burial Beer both have developed a consistent following with their non-conventional tactics of brewing and recipe making.  Now, the two beloved regional brands are teaming up for what looks to be a mouthful of awesome in the form of a Belgian IPA, known to the world as Cemetery Gates.

The brew-masters of Pisgah and Burial teamed up on the Pisgah Brewing system to make 10 barrels of this hop forward, floral ale brewed with Bastogne Belgian yeast.  As always, both breweries take any opportunity to utilize local ingredients in their brews, thus a residual sweetness is evident from the addition of 5 gallons of local honey from Sunbird Farms in Buncombe County.  Mosaic and Citra make up the hop profile for bitterness and aroma, while a complex malt bill including Vienna and Golden Promise round out this amazing untraditional IPA.  Drinkers will delight in their consumption with a smooth yet evident gravity of 6.7% ABV.

As with many of Pisgah Brewing and Burial Beer’s releases, this limited edition brew will be available (while supplies last) in 22oz bottles as well as on draft in prime locations in Asheville and at the collaborating brewery’s taprooms.  The release date for this beer has been set with two release celebrations taking place in one night: On Thursday, July 17th Bruisin’ Ales will host a bottle release and tasting in their shop from 5pm to 7pm, then the party will move over to Ben’s Tune Up for the draft release from 7pm-9pm.  Pisgah and Burial will share a tap-takeover on the back bar at Ben’s as well for the occasion, so look out for a scary good night of beer from this collaboration.
